Over the last 7 days, the Greater New York Red Cross provided emergency assistance to 215 adults and 104 children following 44 local disasters. Here are some highlights from last week and a preview of upcoming activities (see below).

Last Week in Review

• On Sunday, Red Cross volunteers helped dozens of local residents affected by a large fire in Yonkers.
• Marilyn Vallejo and Mozelle McQuade are volunteers for our Service to the Armed Forces program. Read this interview where they explain how they help the military, their families, and veterans.
• Tons of energy and creativity in last Saturday’s Youth Leadership Summit, in which 65 young Red Cross leaders participated.
• On Monday, after two multiple-alarm fires in the Bronx our Red Cross teams mobilized, providing assistance to nearly 200 residents forced from their homes on Freeman St. and McClellan St. Check out some pictures here.
